About Cove Spa

Prestigious 2009 Pevonia national Urban Spa of the Year Winner

After qualifying with a diploma of beauty therapy in 1991 and extensive make-up artistry training, owner Jocelyn Derecourt sought to spend her next 7 years gaining knowledge and experience in the beauty industry, working in many salons and spas, learning about many skin care product lines, how to manage staff and what worked and what didn't for various businesses.

Passionate about Beauty Therapy and with a strong desire to nurture and care for her much loved clients, Jocelyn began The Beauty Cove as a single rented room in 1998 in a hair salon north of the river. In 1998 after meeting her husband Jon, moved to a similar operation in South Perth. A slightly larger premises became available and soon after The Beauty Cove increased from a single operator to a 2 room salon with 2 extra staff. Quickly out growing the space and after extensive research, Jocelyn decided that South Perth needed a larger establishment purely designed to relax and pamper their ever increasing clientele. So in 2001, with the help and support of husband Jon and family, The Beauty Cove Day Spa was born at 47 Tate Street.

Originally a butcher shop built in the 1940's, the old character building had housed many small businesses and required a lot of love to be transformed into the prestigious establishment that it has become today. Now, boasting 4 private massage/facial rooms (2 of which are couples rooms), 1 private wax room, tanning room, manicure area, relaxation room, locker areas with shower facilities, a far infra-red sauna, dual steam shower, free standing tub and outdoor alfresco relaxation area with hydrotherapy spa plus main reception, the day spa caters for all your relaxation needs. There are 9 staff in total, all fully qualified who also receive regular updated training and education. After working so hard to build a strong and thriving reputation for the business, Jocelyn has taken leave to look after her second child, but continues to have a strong influence on training and management within the salon.

Much thought has been put into the extensive service menu and the all important choice of skin care product being used to transform and renew our clients. When choosing skin care lines, the following criteria was very important:.

  • Skin care must be animal bi-product and cruelty free.
  • Contain no chemical fillers which can be potentially harmful and carcinogenic.
  • Contain only the finest quality organic ingredients.
  • Be extensively researched to provide clients with maximum results and be good value for money.
  • To smell pleasant, have environmentally friendly packaging but still be exclusive enough for the clientele.
